Society talk on Friday 16th January 2026
We have an exciting society talk planned for Friday 16th January, starting at 7PM at Arlebury Park (upstairs meeting room). Our guest speaker will be Mark Porter whose many roles include NGS Hampshire County Organiser, NGS SE England Regional Chairman and Trustee, RHS Vice President, Chairman of the Federation of Britain in Bloom. Mark will give a talk about the history of the NGS including a helicopter tour of many of the NGS Gardens, finishing with a Q&A.
Please note that the venue for the talk is Arlebury Park upstairs meeting room (this is a change from earlier communication advising the talk would take place at the Golf Club).
The event is open to all at a cost of £3.00 (cash) payable on the day, no booking required.
The Arlebury Park Bar will be open so refreshments will also be available.
A 8 yd skip has been delivered this afternoon (1st May) to each car park at Spring and the Watercress Garden sites. Please fill these, carefully, with any rubbish from or surrounding your allotment.
This is our annual opportunity to make our allotments a neat and tidy area.
We have decided not to have a working party this year.
A First Aid Box has been installed on the outside of the Spring Gardens Community Shed. The combination to open the door is 999. Please let me know if you have cause to use it and I will arrange for any items used to be replaced.
A similar box will be installed over the weekend to the outside of the Watercress Gardens Community Shed with the same combination, same procedures apply.
Grass Cutting Rota
It’s that time of the year when I am looking for volunteers to join the Mowing Rota. I am hoping for two volunteers to share each month from April through to September, in other words to mow the allotment site twice a month depending on growing conditions.
