About Alresford Allotment Society
The Alresford allotments are located along the quiet lane of Spring Gardens (SO24 9QB), surrounded by beautiful chalk streams in which vitamin-rich watercress grows and for which Alresford has become so well known for. This locally grown watercress can be purchased in numerous farm shops in the area.
The site at Spring Gardens was opened in 2005, and its popularity led to the need for an extension, which was approved in 2008. There are now 70+ plots.
In 2024, Alresford Town Council was able to secure a new site situated a short walk further up the lane. This new site, named Watercress Gardens allotments was opened in November 2024 with a further 25 new plots. The land on which these two sites lie are owned by the Tichborne Estate.
As a result of this expansion, the waiting time for an allotment has been significantly reduced. If you are interested in adding your name to the waiting list then download a copy of the application form here and send to Alresford Town Council townclerk@newalresford-tc.gov.uk
